My journey as a therapist…
It’s been deeply shaped by my life experiences.
I have been where many of my clients are – needing support to move forward as a functioning mother, partner, and professional – and that journey made me a more compassionate and gifted therapist.
There’s nothing you can say that will upset me. I’ve been through a lot, personally and professionally, so I’m not easily shaken. I am present, grounded, and ready to meet you wherever you need me.
I know firsthand the power of finding the right counsel, and I live my life as a testament to the transformation and resilience that you can achieve, too!
Some of my experience…
I grew up feeling blessed and wanted to give back, so I went into social work. I’ve always had a passion for helping others find their way through challenges with a calm, caring guide.
I began my career doing fast-paced crisis work in an ER. I did that for a while, eventually earning my Master of Social Work (MSW) and becoming a wife and mother.
When I was 30, my 15-month-old daughter died in a drowning accident. Just three days later, I found out I was pregnant again. I couldn’t look at water and couldn’t return to trauma work, but I had a child on the way and another who needed me.
It was at that time that I sought EMDR therapy, and it was life-changing. I was able to process my grief, leave that chapter behind, and create a new one filled with hope and resilience. Eventually, I became a baby and toddler swimming instructor, teaching a specialized approach for babies, toddlers, and children with special needs so they can survive in the water.
Maybe you’ve heard this saying…
If you make the right choices, do the right things, and live a healthy life, good things will happen.
That’s more or less the way it worked out for me until I was 30.
I know bad things happen for no reason, and I know the chaos and pain that follow.
Whatever upheaval you’re facing – death, divorce, or just feeling lost in life – it’s still possible to write a triumphant new chapter!
